Gnawing the Bone

Gnawing the Bone:
Re-fleshing myth and tale from a Feminist Perspective
Out of the woods and into your mind lurks the thought of “what if...” A tale once told to you in your childhood. You wonder if that is the way the story really goes. What if the characters that you once knew had a past, or a future... a secret life you knew nothing about? Did that old tale ever really protect you from the harsh truths of your reality?
Short plays by seven member playwrights will be presented across the entire campus of the YWCA of Tucson. Audiences will move through the show, taking in each of the short performances in its own unique environment. SheworXX artists are working collaboratively and with fierce commitment to create a unique theatrical experience, both in form and content.

Tales include seven untold stories from Esther AlmazanCatfish BaruniShel ChapmanKim LowryMilta OrtizGermaine ShamesKlara Wojtkowska and Eugenia Woods.
